Sandy Barbour Video Message [If video does not load properly, view this version on YouTube.] |
To help clarify a court ruling on challenges raised in a lawsuit aimed at halting construction of the Student-Athlete High Performance Center, Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour has prepared a video message for Bear Backers, season-ticket holders and other friends of the department.
Most importantly, department and university officials were very pleased with the June 18 decision, saying that Judge Barbara Miller concluded that state seismic law will allow the center to be built on the proposed site and that, as a whole, the building does not violate earthquake safety laws or state environmental laws.
While a few narrow issues remain to be cleared up, construction should soon begin on this project which will serve more than 450 student-athletes and staff, providing them with a safe and quality environment to work and train.
